I Found You

The Book Nook

I wasn’t joking when I said that new books are one of the things that I keep my eye on the most.

When Josh and I were on our honeymoon in Aruba, there was this girl around my age reading I Found You on the beach. The title alone sucked me in, and I wanted to know what this story was going to be about, so I jotted down a note in my phone in hopes of remembering to purchase it when I was back to reality.

Fast forward to December. Josh asked me to create a wish list to help a few people determine what to buy me for Christmas. My wishlist quickly became a booklist, which included I Found You.

Here’s what you need to know – IT IS A MUST READ! With family in from out of town for Christmas, I tried so hard not to become antisocial, but I couldn’t put this book down. There was so much suspense, and I had to know all of the details.

Just a quick synopsis of the book… Lisa Jewell beautifully intertwined three stories into one, truly showing that there’s always more to the story. Throughout I Found You, you follow Alice, a single mom of three, who confronts a man on the beach. She quickly learns that he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. Being a bit dysfunctional herself, she is quick to help.

Jewell also includes Lily in the story, a twenty something year old wife of a few weeks. From the start of the story, her husband is missing and things quickly begin to unravel. Does she really know her husband? Could their “fairytale” love really be that good?

Lastly, we go back in time about twenty plus years and get to know Gray and Kirsty, a brother and sister team that are visiting the beach with their family. At this time, Kirsty is becoming a woman and quickly becomes worthy of some unwanted attention. The pages keep turning from there!
